Forty and Keratoconic

We all agree that wearing our contact lenses help us see better far........ but why now at 4o years old a person who can still see great far with contact lenses on can't see to read so well anymore!?
Well the answer is simply that around age forty, most people become presbyopic. This is just the big fancy word that means you just can't see the fine prints so well anymore. It happens to everyone!
Your next question is probably 'Why can I see to read better without my lenses?' The answer to that is since you're so shortsighted without your lenses on, you can see everything close up, but not far. Because you now have problems accommodating for both near and far at the same time, the next best thing to do would be to get some prescription reading, bifocal or progressive glasses to wear over your specialty contact lenses. This way you can still see far and you don't ever have to worry about the trouble of taking off you contact lenses every time you have to read![/b]
